Please join The Golden Dome School for a weekend dedicated to movement, magic, and inter-dimensional travel! The Magician can traverse and converse with all life forms and dimensions at will. During this two day intensive, Eliza Swann and Laura Stinger will introduce magic, movement exercises and thought experiments that assist us in becoming “Panpsychic Poets.” We will learn to communicate and collaborate with plants, animals, stars, and sand.
“Panpsychism” is a term that means that all beings have a mind and the ability to communicate. The worldview that everything is alive, everything interrelates, and everything communicates is essential to magic making. For the magician, the song of the rocks, the sand, the rotation of the planets, the animals, the plants – the myriad songs of the world are legible. The magician is able to discover true words that speak directly to the nature of things, rather than approximate words that represent ideas with symbols. To become a “Panpsychic Poet” is to become a participant in the great cosmic song.
Laura Stinger will be offering lessons in movement and embodied trance techniques that induce inter-being and inter-species communication.
Eliza Swann will be offering lessons in philosophy, inter-species communication, magic and inter-dimensional travel.

Laura Stinger is an interdisciplinary artist working in performance, sculpture, and video. Her work examines performance of identity, consumption of desire, and failures in communication between people. Performance is used as a place to push individuality, queerness, and chaotic complexity, while also finding an authentic modern spirituality. In her work, she creates situations that in their live-ness, in their rebelliousness, and in their messiness, attack the homogeneity and crippling blandness of capitalism, choosing to see art as a responsibility and a political act of radical collaboration.
Past work includes Unnatural History, Pieter Space (2016); Foreign Language Film, Golden Dome School/Coaxial Gallery (2015); After Collapsing (I Love You Anna Nicole), Dixon Place (2010), and Keeping it Down PS122 (2007)
